Title: Director, Postsecondary Services
Location: Alpharetta, Georgia
NCA CASI is seeking a Director, Postsecondary Services to assist with directing the Postsecondary Services Department for the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). The position is full-time beginning immediately.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates in the process of recognition with the United States Department of Education regarding postsecondary institutions.
- Coordinates and implements plans and procedures to meet the United States Department of Education Secretary’s criteria for postsecondary institutions.
- Provides support to the Vice President regarding the activities and meetings of the NCA CASI Board.
- Implements program expectations and guidelines.
- Ensures accuracy of the content of the postsecondary web page.
- Provides communication to accredited institutions, governmental agencies, and other accrediting bodies of accreditation actions regarding postsecondary institutions.
- Assists the Vice President with the accreditation activities for postsecondary institutions.
- Works with staff to process candidacy application documents so new member institutions can gain an initial accreditation status with NCA CASI.
- Reviews self assessments and other accreditation documentation submitted by member institutions to ensure readiness for candidacy and accreditation visits.
- Coordinates and provides accreditation training and education activities for member postsecondary institutions.
- Recruits team chairs and team members for candidacy and accreditation visits.
- Facilitates the communication between team chairs, team members, and schools hosting candidacy and accreditation visits.
- Provides member institutions with technical assistance regarding all facets of the NCA CASI postsecondary application and accreditation process.
- Reviews, edits, summarizes, and distributes visiting team accreditation reports for the purpose of Board review and action.
- Participates in the process for periodic standards and criteria review and policy formulation.
- Serves as a resource to staff members across the organization on issues related to the management of postsecondary accreditation.
- Assists in implementing, and communicating the organization’s strategic plan.
- Fosters positive and collaborative working relationships across the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Professional Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of five years of exemplary service in an administrative/leadership capacity in an accredited institution or school system or other administrative experience.
- Experience working with US Department Regulations is a plus.
- The Director shall have established a reputation of excellence in her/his own educational environment.
Education:
- Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree in administration or the equivalent.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of institution or school system administration and accreditation processes required.
- Experience as a Quality Assurance Review team chair and/or volunteer a plus.
Ability/Skills:
- Ability and skills to coordinate quality assurance and continuous improvement processes,
- respond professionally to all clients and colleagues,
- create and maintain cooperative working relationships with others,
- demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills,
- demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, and
- demonstrate the ability to use technology tools.
